Spring of 2020, We at Edgewood Church decided it was time to expand our career ministry to meet the needs during a difficult season. Instead of just offering counseling a few evenings a year, you can now be paired with an amazing career mentor all year long with the convince of meeting virtually.
If you are a neighbor in the Edgewood, Kirkwood, East- Atl area and are unemployed, "under" employed or unhappily employed... you are in the right place.

Often the hardest part of a job change/ search is knowing what to do next. Our mentors have decades of experience navigating the complex world employee/ employer needs.

From advising the Georgia legislature on creating “jobs bills” to managing human resources for Frito Lays nationally, our mentors have the expertise to tell you where to push and how to market your skills in your job search to get the result you want.

During a single session or recurring sessions, a mentor will help you cast a vision, create a plan and provide leads that will hopefully lead you to your next fulfilling career.

Larry Decuir

Larry has a heart for helping others discover an individualized path to obtain professional career objectives that are aligned to personal strengths and purpose.  As a veteran HR executive, he has provided one-on-one and team coaching for over 30 years in the areas of career navigation, change management, leadership development and personal effectiveness. He has also leveraged his expertise and experience by serving on the boards of various non-profits in the Atlanta metro area.

He deeply believes that providing career assistance is a ministry to which he has been called. Philosophically, he focuses on helping individuals embrace the unique talents and experiences they possess, acknowledge those areas of interest that they are most passionate about, and learn how to position themselves for career opportunities that leverage both.  He currently facilitates Bible study discussions at his home church, but his greatest joy and proudest moments revolve around his family – his wife, Cathy, and two sons – Austin and Spencer.

Harry Litzell

“My name is Harry Litzell and I am a native Floridian who group up on a cattle ranch. I married my wife Robin in 1986, and have 6 children, 3 of them were born to us and the other 3 were specially hand-picked by our children to be in our Family – Katie, Wyatt, Sara, Maddie, Harrison, and Ashley. We also have a Grand Daughter Matilda, who is absolutely the bestest.

I attended Carson Newman College on a ROTC Scholarship and have a BA in Psychology. I then served 4 years Active Duty as a Personnel Officer in the US Army.

I worked as HR Professional at PepsiCo from May 1990 until my retirement in April 2020. I worked in Bradenton, FL., Orlando, FL, Dallas, TX., and Atlanta, GA., but had responsibilities all over the country at different times.

I have experience in just about all areas of HR when I supported the Tropicana Orange Juice business, and the Frito Lay business. Areas such as Safety, Staffing, Labor Relations, Leadership Development, Career Development, Performance Management, Organizational Development, and Coaching.

I have enjoyed Coaching the most throughout my 30 plus years of being in Leadership roles. Being able to help people achieve their goals in life whether they fit in the Company or elsewhere. Trying to ensure the focus was on the person, and not just a blue print designed by a company or organization. I am hoping to once again get the opportunity to help others in any way I can. “
