Carrie Dean
Carrie spent the majority of her childhood in Maceió and Recife, Brazil. As a result, Carrie is fluent in Portuguese and is working towards the goal of becoming fluent in Spanish. Georgia has been her home since her family’s return to the US in the early 90s. Carrie graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Psychology and a minor in Portuguese, and later earned a Master of Divinity degree from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. Before entering full-time ministry, Carrie worked in sales and event coordinating.
More than anything, Carrie loves to walk alongside people on their journey of faith, encouraging them as they discover God at work in and around them. Carrie also loves to cook and garden, but dreads cleaning up afterward. Her favorite sport to play is football – as long as her teammates throw her the ball. She is married to her best friend, Nathan, and is the proud mother of a beautiful baby boy, Oliver Finn.
Nathan Dean
Nathan earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from North Georgia College and State University and a Master of Divinity degree from McAfee School of Theology. He has started two companies. One company failed in six months and the other is currently heading into its sixth year of business. Nathan is married to Carrie Dean, an amazing pastor and mother of the cutest kid God ever created.
Nathan is passionate about helping people hear God’s voice, knowing that once they do they will never be the same again, and will spend the rest of their life listening for more. He is excited that he is getting close to his lifelong goal of being able to make fire with sticks. He is currently learning to play the violin and hopes that someone other than his dog will want to listen to him play by Christmas. If God calls Nathan to do anything beyond loving and serving the people of Edgewood he hopes that it will be to captain a sailboat in the Caribbean.
